Dr. Sujith Varma K. has accumulated a wealth of experience over 26 years, blending teaching and industrial exposure. His journey began at Mangalore University, where he earned his degree before stepping into the role of lecturer in the Department of Pharmaceutics at National College of Pharmacy in 1998. Recognizing his potential, he was swiftly promoted to Vice Principal, assuming key administrative responsibilities.Dr. Varma furthered his education by pursuing a postgraduate specialization in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, expanding his expertise. He underwent specialized training in Pharmaceutical Formulation at Germen Remedies, Goa, and Ranbaxy, New Delhi, enriching his practical knowledge.His academic pursuits led him to Kannur University, where he completed his PhD in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. His doctoral research focused on developing a microparticle delivery system for the Tetanus Toxoid vaccine, showcasing his commitment to advancing pharmaceutical sciences.Dr. Varma's contributions extend beyond academia; he has authored numerous research papers in esteemed National and International Journals. He played a pivotal role in the modernization of the Pharmaceutics PG Lab, utilizing an AICTE grant, and secured a Central Government grant for drug discovery developments, highlighting his proactive approach to enhancing research infrastructure.His engagement with the academic community is evident through his involvement in various university bodies. He has served as a member of the Board of Studies for UG and PG in Pharmaceutical Sciences, an elected member of the Faculty Board in Pharmaceutical Sciences, and a member of the Scrutiny Committee for PhD in Pharmacy. Additionally, he has been a member of the proposal sanction committee for funds exceeding 20 Lakhs, demonstrating his commitment to academic governance and development.Dr. Varma's leadership extends to professional organizations; he served as the former Vice President of the APTI Kerala State branch, contributing to the advancement of pharmaceutical education and research in the region.His mentorship has been invaluable, guiding numerous students through their M Pharm and PhD journeys.
