PHARMACEUTICS

Departmental Objectives:
The objectives of the department are designed to understand the basic principles involved in the formulation and development of solid dosage forms, liquid dosage forms, semisolid dosage forms, disperse systems, novel drug delivery systems and cosmetic technology, dose calculations and dispensing methodology of various dosage forms, development of different dosage forms with reference to I.P, B.P and USP standards and in accordance with CGMP, USFDA, TGA and ICH guidelines, pilot plant scale-up techniques and validation. The students are made familiar with basic concept involved in Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, the design of dosage regimens and development of kinetic modeling.  At the end of the course, the students will be able to manufacture tablets, capsule, oral liquid dosage forms, and semisolid preparation.
