GOVERNING BODY

The governing body of the organization consists of 13 members, including the Chairman, Dr. Navas KM. Other members include Dr. Ayisha Nazreen, who holds the position of Executive trustee & Director, and Dr. Sujith Varma, who serves as the Principal and Member Secretary of the body.

Dr. Akash Marathakam, Professor & HOD Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Dr. Kathirvel, Professor & HOD Analysis, are also part of the governing body as members. In addition, Dr. Dinesh, Associate Professor, Ayurveda Medical College, has been nominated as an academic nominee.Mr. Sijo Pattam, Professor & HOD Pharmaceutics, Mr. Rajeev P Thomas, Professor, and Dr. S Venkatesh, Professor& HOD Pharmacology, are also members of the governing body. Mrs. Sangeetha Sukumaran, Associate Professor, is also included in the governing body as a member.Furthermore, the governing body also includes Mr. Jeo Paul Philip, Senior General Manager, Glenmark, as an industry nominee. Additionally, there are two ex-officio members, one nominated by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and another by KUHS (Kerala University of Health Sciences).

Governing body has the following Functions:

The governing body of the institution is responsible for several key functions, including appointing the Principal/Director, teaching and non-teaching staff based on selection committees that comply with the relevant regulations set by the University/Government/Councils. They must ensure that the institution satisfies the norms of the Faculty requirement of NCP, as per the Pharmacy Council of India, AICTE, and KUHS norms.

The governing body is also responsible for monitoring and evaluating the quality of teaching and other academic activities carried out in the institution, and suggesting remedial measures as required, with the assistance of the Advisory Committee. They must ratify all Vision, Mission, and Program Educational Objectives statements.

Additionally, the governing body must motivate faculty members to submit project proposals for financial assistance and implement the latest technologies in the teaching-learning process, as well as encourage Industry Institute Interaction, placement, and other extracurricular activities. They must also perform any other duties or exercise any other powers entrusted to them by the Management/State Government/Respective Councils and the University.

The governing body must approve the proposed budget of the institution submitted by the Principal, oversee the purchase of equipment/machinery, and manage the recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff. Finally, the governing body must facilitate discussions on R&D and consultancy.

Frequency of meeting: Twice in a year.
